Reaching out on Christmas Day
Across the world, this time of year can be unsettling and bring into sharp focus the elements of life that we all struggle with. For the last three years, Ali has shared a demonstration on the 25th of December to bring together those people who might feel alone, overwhelmed or a little bit lost and she will be repeating it again this year… but bigger and better than before.
If you are on your own or feel isolated, there is no shame in feeling that way - you might be surrounded by people and still be experiencing that same sense. Therefore, Ali would like to invite you to be part of her creative community either live on the 25th or via catch-up at any time in the weeks after her broadcast.

What will Ali be doing?
Ali will be sharing a simple project, based on a few art materials you might find around your home or that do not cost too much if you find yourself here ahead of the broadcast. Here is what you will need:
Felt tipped pens - the kind that state they are ‘washable’ or that you have tested beforehand to make sure they run when you add a little bit of water to them
Something to paint on - this could be watercolour paper, card stock or a surface that is heavy enough to take some colouring in and a little bit of water
A small brush - this could be an artist’s brush, a clean make up brush or even something simple like a cotton bud
Kitchen roll
A pot of water
A pencil, ruler and maybe an eraser
A black pen - perhaps a fine black sketching pen (it would be great if it was waterproof) or even just a simple black biro
Either a hairdryer or some patience
Ali will be encouraging you to create an Artist Trading Card (ATC) to exchange with other creative people and will be giving you more information on the day. To take part in the swap, send your completed card or cards to: Artist Trading Card Project, c/o Alison C. DON’T FORGET to enclose a stamped, self-addressed envelope so she can send you a card from someone else!
