Eighteen of Fifty: Seahorse 1

Thanks for visiting this auction page for my 50 at 50 challenge, if you’re not sure what the project is and what I’m trying to achieve, you can read more about it on the introduction page HERE. By navigating backwards and forwards through the blog, you can view all of the paintings that are available to bid on, with 50% of the profit going to the Dorset Wildlife Trust. Today I am pleased to share the eighteenth in the collection, the first of a pair of Seahorse paintings.

You might like to know a little more about this piece? You will no doubt have seen by now that I am no exception to the tradition of artists re-visiting subject matter again and again in order to experiment with different ways of presenting or testing techniques. I don’t really know why I find seahorses so alluring, maybe it is their gentle nature, maybe because they are so instantly recognisable, but whatever it is, they call out for interesting ways of painting them. So here is the first of two seahorse portraits, there will be a second one next week if you fancy owning the pair?

All the details of how you can bid on the paintings are detailed below the image, or you can read about them HERE. Stay tuned throughout the year for lots more paintings and creativity, I’d be thrilled if you can join me, Ali

You will be required to input a name and email address, although no one but the website administrators can see your email address, and it will only be used to contact you when the auction has ended. If you wish to post anonymously, please see step 5.

  3. The bids for ALL fifty paintings will close on SUNDAY 9TH JUNE 2024 when Ali will name the winning person for each of the paintings, please keep an eye on her social media and the individual blog post to see if it is you.

If you require extra shipping insurance, that will be charged in addition to your winning bid. You will have seven days to reply to your email, after which Ali will contact the next highest bidder so please be prepared that you may still win the painting, even if your bid was not the highest.

We will do our best to make sure it gets to you as safe as it possibly can but if you would prefer an extra level of insurance for an extra fee, please let us know in the conversation after the bids have closed.

  7. All fifty paintings will go on display at Ali’s studio during Dorset Art Weeks, 25th May to the 9th June 2024 and therefore NO paintings will be available to purchase prior to those dates to uphold the integrity of the display.

  8. Please ensure you have sufficient funds before placing your bid and your comment will be seen as compliance with these rules.

Thank you for reading this far, your support of Ali’s work and GOOD LUCK!
